BACKBOARD INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (LEC308/309)

1. Remove all of the drawers from the cart and the bottom pan exposing the 5

wheel mechanism.

Loosen the acorn nut on the 5

wheel cable (5

wheel instructions apply on Lifeline carts only).

2. Next remove the side panels of the cart, there are 6 to 8 screws on the inside of the cart that need

removed along with 6 to 8 screws on the outside of the cart that need removed depending on the size

of the cart.

3. Remove the side panels, you may have to tap them from the inside to get it free from the cart

frame.

4. Now that the side panels are removed you need to remove the very bottom screw that goes

through the metal frame into the plastic pod on either the front or back of the cart, depending on

which kit was ordered (LEC308 – front backboard kit, LEC309 – rear backboard kit).

5. Once this screw is removed take a battery operated or electric drill with a 5/16” drill bit and drill

through the frame where you just removed the screw, completely through the plastic pod. This will

provide the bottom mounting hole. Do this on both sides of the cart, again, depending on which kit

was ordered.

6. Next take a tape measure and go up 5” from the hole that you just drilled. There will be a hole in

the frame. Take your drill and drill through this frame hole completely through the plastic pod. This

will provide the top mounting hole. Do this on both sides of the cart as applicable to your kit.

7. With the holes drilled you can now install the backboard holders. In your LEC308 / 309 kit you will

have two blue holders, one is for the right side and one is for the left side. The slots on the holders

should face towards each other. The short screw / bolt goes in the top and the long screw / bolt goes

in the bottom. Tighten them just so that the lock washer draws up against the frame.

8. With the holders in place reinstall the 5

wheel cable through the spring loaded mechanism. There

should be about 1 ¾” to 2” gap between the spring loaded part and the stationary part. Once

tightened try the handle to make sure it works smoothly and that the 5

wheel locks into place when

the handle is engaged.

9. Reinstall the side panels, first with the outside screws and then the inside screws.

10. Install the drawers.
